Shawn Walters is a current member of the AgWest board and has served on the Northwest Farm Credit Services Board of Directors since March of 2010. This experience has been very rewarding as he has grown to appreciate the association’s employees, fellow board members, customer/friends and commitment to agriculture. Shawn has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Brigham Young University. He served as a past CPA and completed the Farm Credit Premier Governance Series. 

Shawn operates a potato fresh pack facility, Walters Produce, Inc, located in Newdale, Idaho, and various farming entities in partnership with a son and son-in-law. His operations are in a 4-county area in eastern Idaho outside of Rexburg. The farm operation concentrates on potatoes (russets, reds, and processed varieties), but also includes certified wheat, commercial wheat, malt barley, and alfalfa. The fresh pack potato facility operates eleven months of the year, shipping freshly packaged potatoes across the U.S. 

Shawn’s hobbies include just about anything with his children and grandchildren; from snowmobiling to sledding to skiing, and any watersport that he can get the grandkids to do.
