Eric Snodgrass is an Atmospheric Scientist who develops predictive software solutions to manage weather risk for global agriculture. He provides frequent updates on how high-impact weather events influence agricultural productivity. His research uses machine learning to understand field-level weather impacts on US yields and improve long-range weather prediction.

Eric presents his research at over 100 conferences annually, providing guidance to weather-sensitive financial institutions, farmers and commodity traders. In 2023, the Mid America CropLife Association awarded him the Educator Award for Distinguished Service to America’s High Technology Agriculture.

Eric co-founded Global Weather and Climate Logistic, LLC, and Agrible, Inc., which were acquired by Nutrien Ag Solutions in 2018. He was a senior science fellow at Nutrien from 2019 to 2024. From 2006 to 2019, he was the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he taught over 20,000 students and won numerous teaching awards.
